Time flies when you're having fun

Well, I thought I would resume work on the site in early September...but I've so enjoyed hanging out with my wife Anna that everything else went to second priority.  Although still enjoying newly-married life, I think it's about time to get back to work here.

I have started a new page entitled "Hilgen Artifacts." On rare occasions  Hilgen cabinets have been found to contain documents of various sorts.  Of particular interest are notes written by Hilgen employees when completing inspection of amplifiers or preparing them for shipment.  However, I have found one warranty card and - if my luck holds out -- I may be receiving a schematic next week.

If any Hilgenite out there has found similar documents or notes, it would be extremely helpful if you could photograph them and send me the photos for display on the site.

It is touching to be reminded that actual human beings with names like "Lucy" were building these amps in the mid 1960's.

Lovely site, thanks! I've owned a Hilgen Champion for about 50 years, got it when I was in my late teens. It was my main guitar amp for a long time gigging, and I eventually made it into a combo, copying the speaker cabinet shape and building a space for the amp above it. It sounds great as it always has, but has developed a weird howling noise lately that keeps me from taking it out to play. I will investigate soon. Great to know that others finally appreciate this fine amp.

I've been playing electric guitar for 44 years.  That's an alarming statistic... Anyway, I admire underdogs and unsung heroes.  Particularly when they labored in complete obscurity, making spectacular amps that were forgotten for more than 30 years. Another alarming statistic.
